After fasting for forty days and nights, Jesus is tempted by Satan, yet thoroughly silences him with the Word of God and His dedication to follow it. From His "home base" in Capernaum, Jesus calls four fishermen: Andrew and Peter, and James and John, to follow Him. The Lord Jesus begins His ministry, "teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people."
