Humility, Holiness, and Wholehearted Obedience

James applies the contrast between the wisdom from above and worldly wisdom to the everyday lives of Christians by warning us of the dangers of worldliness and a lack of humility. He addresses quarrels within the community of faith, selfish desires, divided loyalties, pride, critical speech, presumptuous planning, and the failure to do what's right.
