Lying to the Holy Spirit (7-7-24)

Luke tells us of the great contrast between Barnabus, the son of encouragement, who sold a field he owned and gave the ​proceeds to the apostles, with Ananias and Sapphira who agreed to hold back a portion of their proceeds from the sale of a piece of property while making it look like they were offering the full amount. Peter questioned Ananias' motives and gave Sapphira the chance to repent. Because they followed through with their plan to try to deceive the Holy Spirit, God brought judgment upon them and they died.
