Greatness in the Kingdom of God (10-22-23)
As Jesus and His disciples made their way to Jerusalem for the last time before His crucifixion, James and John asked for seats beside the Lord when He established His Kingdom. Jesus told them they didn't know what they were asking for and told them those places in the Kingdom "belong to those for whom they have been prepared." When the other disciples heard about their ambitious request, they were indignant with James and John. Jesus took this opportunity to tell them, "whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all," and offered His life as the example for them and us to follow.
